About Me

My name is Tashara Cooper, LCSW

I work with individuals, couples, and professionals navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and mood disorders. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in cycles of stress and self-doubt, this is a safe and supportive space to slow down, refocus, and begin again.

I bring specialized training in trauma recovery, grief support, and sex therapy, and help clients identify and reframe cognitive distortions—like “all-or-nothing” thinking—that can fuel anxiety and self-doubt. My approach is straightforward yet compassionate, helping you uncover patterns, strengthen resilience, and build confidence in every area of life.

I also specialize in supporting women who are starting over or redefining themselves—whether navigating new friendships, career transitions, relationships, or empty-nest seasons. I believe true healing begins from the inside out. Together, we’ll create space for growth, self-discovery, and renewal—helping you reconnect with your confident, grounded, and authentic self.

Therapeutic Approaches & Modalities

My therapeutic approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I combine evidence-based methods with empathy, clarity, and practical tools to support healing and transformation.

Approaches include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Reshaping unhelpful thought patterns that influence emotions and behaviors.

  • Trauma-Focused CBT: Healing from past experiences through structured, safe processing and emotional regulation.

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Cultivating self-awareness and calm through present-moment focus.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy: Building on strengths to create actionable steps toward lasting change.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Strengthening communication and connection within relationships.

  • Grief Counseling: Navigating loss with compassion while rebuilding meaning and hope.

  • Sex Therapy: Supporting emotional and physical intimacy to deepen connection and trust.

Every client’s journey is unique. I draw from these approaches to meet you where you are—supporting lasting emotional, relational, and personal wellness.

“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”  - Abraham Maslow
